Hiking is a popular recreational pastime in Arizona, as a get-away from urban living, while enjoying the beauty and wildlife of nature. Hiking season runs all year in Arizona. Of course, with unpredictable weather and fires, some trails may be closed anytime during the season. The websites for the area will usually inform you of any closures or cautions and we provide links for most of the trails in our directory Search Tucson Pictures

Kodak C743 Digital Camera Review

This is another good digital camera by Kodak. It's a compact 7.1 megapixel which produces very high quality pictures. Kodak has always done great with color in my opinion and this camera lives up to their reputation. It has an Auto Focus 3x optical lens which is equivalent to a 37mm - 111mm lens (Danger sticker added for liability purposes, I take some serious pictures)

SD card for memory, these are great and can hold thousands of high quality images and / or a lot of video (recorded with sound). These use AA batteries, so while they eat them up with the flash, they are easy and low cost to replace (feed)

The controls are all within reach if you are right handed. i guess left handed people have gotten used to using cameras with their wrong hang.. r many be the next PC wave will be for left handed rights.. anyway, the Kodak C743 also has a strong place for the lanyard which I find an important part of my cameras.  Some 550 cord looped through the lanyard loop makes for a VERY strong way to keep hold of this camera

The screen on the back is very big, so far that has been nice, but I think it might use a lot of power compared to the much smaller ones I've used in the past. Also seems like this one could get damaged easier, although i protect it much more than past cameras because of the large screen being exposed. The Delete is a separate button, so are review and flash. The best feature in regard to buttons ont his model is the separate button for Self Timer and double shots. that is very handy and time saving

The lens moves out (with a motor) each time you turn it on. This is the first camera like this for me, and in my opinion the weakest link on this camera. It's a waste of batteries and takes too long to get ready to take pictures because of this wait. Also when you shut it down it wastes more batteries to retract the lens. So far it hasn't broke, but I am sure it will. The lens goes back in when the camera goes into battery saving mode too (which wastes batteries). There is a self contained lens cap which is nice, but will also soon break.

Over all for the price the Kodak C743 digital camera takes great pictures. I think it has a few disadvantages that will prevent it from much extreme use, but it's a real good choice camera for mild use
