  Hiking is a popular recreational pastime in Arizona, as a get-away from urban living, while enjoying the beauty and wildlife of nature. Hiking season runs all year in Arizona. Of course, with unpredictable weather and fires, some trails may be closed anytime during the season. Here is the small male tarantula with a pocket knife for scale. This is the smallest tarantula I've seen in the wild. Note the wood and rubber (old tire) used to create interesting water bars to divert rainwater from cutting a trench down the trail

About half a mile east of the road and Moleno Campground looking back west. You can se the road climb up and head west out of the valley and the blacktop road at the campground is visible running paralel below it.
