is the portion of the Arizona Trail
that heads east from Molino Campground on
Mt. Lemmon

Signs that describe the mountains
and habitats of the area

|
|
A sign that marks the Arizona
Trail. this one has been damaged
but it still shows the complete
trail and where we are along
it.

|
|
Some of the color still remaining
in fall

|
|
Signs along the trail. There
are not many signs, the trail
is quite obvious for the portion
we hiked

|
|
Some evidence of past fires
are all over, like the burns
on this cactus. We saw a small
tarantula on the path

|
|
Here is the small male tarantula
with a pocket knife for scale.
This is the smallest tarantula
I've seen in the wild. Note the
wood and rubber (old tire) used
to create interesting water bars
to divert rainwater from cutting
a trench down the trail

|
About half a mile east of the
road and Moleno Campground looking
back west. You can se the road
climb up and head west out of
the valley and the blacktop road
at the campground is visible
running paralel below it.
