We were given the chance to review the Benchmade 155 fixed blade knife. This high quality knife made by Benchmade in the USA is made of quality materials in a unique design by Warren Osborne, a respected knife designer. Features of this knife include; 6.2 inch blade length, .18 inch blade thickness in a modified drop-point style with multiple serrations. The Benchmade 155 weighs a hefty 9.92 ounces and has an overall length of 11.2 inches. The machined aluminum handles have a Multi-Directional texture that offers a positive grip no matter how the knife is held in the hand. The Benchmade 155 is made from 154CM Stainless Steel, a premium grade steel originally developed for tough industrial applications because of its corrosion resistance and toughness. This well balanced knife feels great in the hand and we can not wait to get it into the field to see how well it performs. This knife is a serious tool worthy of the Benchmade name

WARREN OSBORNE- Being raised in the farming and ranching industry taught Warren early on what great utility a quality knife can offer. How a knife feels in the hand over extended use, blade design/edge configurations, and the types of materials used are all mandatory considerations of an Osborne design.

The 155 SBK-ADC Fixed Presidio has a Modified Drop-Point with Combo Edge for "Generous Utility". The full tang 1/5th of an inch thick stainless steel blade is sturdy yet well balanced. The serrations at the base of the blade and at the front of the spine offer the ability to cut from many angles no matter how the knife is held

The blade extends through the handle with a Full Tang. The blade material is 154CM stainless steel: An American made premium grade stainless steel originally developed for tough industrial applications. Known for its best all-around qualities, it offers great corrosion resistance with good toughness and edge quality.

Foliage Green Anodized 6061-T6 Aluminum Handle Scales are designed to offer a positive grip no matter how the knife is held. The pattern resembles the belly of a snake. The serrated pattern mirrors its self so the serrations (texture) is always in the correct direction to offer grip for the hand

The only item included in the box (besides the knife you buy) is the warranty card and care instructions, the sign of a company who builds quality knives and doesn't need marketing materials to sell their knives.. the quality of their products keeps their customers loyal

This version of the Benchmade Presidio is the 155 SBK-ADC with Multi-Function Soft ADC Sheath. This is well made sheath made in the USA by Eagle Industries. The nylon sheath has a hard insert to contain the blade and stop it from puncturing the nylon. The MOLLE Compatible webbing allows the knife to be worn on just about any type of gear, belt or vest.

Benchmade fixed soft sheaths are designed to secure the knife in either right or left side carry. Sheaths come standard with malice clip (by Tactical Tailor) and Velcro adjustable belt hanger for belt carry. Sheaths are also MOLLE system compliant. The snap-around closure snugs the handle in various methods.

The Benchmade MOLLE Fixed Sheath also include a drop leg hanger which offers multiple options for carry on web gear or other wide belts. The hinged nylon loop allows the knife to drop lower than the waist for easy access with armor, vests or other gear

The knife retaining strap on the Benchmade MOLLE fixed sheath has multiple options for keeping the knife in place. The standard configuration is like most sheaths, a simple easy to open single snap

The strap is designed so that it can be opened and the velcro exposed to offer either very secure retention, or no retention at all with the strap tucked out of the way.Very few, if any, other sheaths offer these features

For situations where the knife will not be needed quickly, the strap can wrap very tight around the handle of the knife and attached and locked so that the knife would be all but impossible to remove or fall out without first releasing the strap

In situations where the knife might be needed often or there is little chance of the knife falling out, the strap can be secured out of the way without retaining the knife at all.

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. set-up shop in Clackamas, Oregon in 1990 (originally founded in California in 1988). The initial knives primarily consisted of the Bali-Song® knives, using a combination of outside vendors and inside processing to build finished products. And like most companies, starting out meant scarce money and big plans, using second hand equipment and limited resources.

Soon, a natural born fortitude and an undying passion to make it right and make it Benchmade, prospered into significant growth. As the product line grew so did the in-house capabilities. We began to acquire new machines and technologies including the first of several lasers, making Benchmade the first knife manufacturer to have such equipment in-house. Open minds and positive attitudes would lead to several more industry firsts over the course of the next several years.

This was only the beginning of Benchmade's breaking of new ground in the manufactured knife markets by using non-traditional materials and modern manufacturing methods in not only building knives better but, inevitably building better knives. The Designer Series was first introduced in 1991 with several custom designs being manufactured. Consecutive years of aggressive growth led to the next logical step in 1996 when Benchmade moved into its own 35,000 sq. ft. facility.
