Hiking is a popular recreational pastime in Arizona, as a get-away from urban living, while enjoying the beauty and wildlife of nature. Hiking season runs all year in Arizona. Of course, with unpredictable weather and fires, some trails may be closed anytime during the season. The websites for the area will usually inform you of any closures or cautions and we provide links for most of the trails in our directory Search Tucson Pictures

I-10 Roadwork in Tucson, AZ Sept 2007

Our September 18 speaker at the Leads Unlimited meeting was from the AZ dept of Transportation. She talked about the reasons for the construction on I-10 and it's effects on businesses in the area. We asked some questions and learned about some upcoming events like the Gem Show and how it will be effected.

Due to the level and proximity of traffic on I-10 and the frontage roads in the project area, drivers are asked to stay in their vehicle if it breaks down, has a flat tire or is otherwise unable to be driven out of traffic to an area that is safe for you to exit your car or make repairs. Call 911 for emergency-related assistance. A tow truck will be dispatched immediately to move your vehicle to a safe area away from traffic.

Each Tuesday morning Leads Unlimited, a business leads group, meets at Mimis cafe on Broadway and Wilmont in east Tucson, Arizona. We eat breakfast and listen to a guest speaker. Affterwards we exchange leads and talk business. Visitors are welcome to join us for breakfast as well. As a guest you can order from Mimis business breakfast menu and sit in our meeting. You can be a guest for three weeks, to decide if you want to become a member. Join us next Tuesday

Work is currently in progress on widening I-10 from Prince Road to 29th Street.

One Major Routing Change:
Summer 2007 – Spring 2010

  • All entrance and exit ramps between Prince Road and 29th Street are closed for approximately 2½ years.

  • I-10 remains open! Two eastbound and two westbound travel lanes on the Interstate remain open in the project area. Vehicles on I-10 that do not need to exit between Prince Road and 29th Street should stay on I-10 through the construction zone.

  • On the frontage roads, a third lane is open to traffic, creating three lanes of one-way traffic in each direction from Prince Road to 29th Street for local traffic and access.

  • Major cross-street traffic, including turns onto these streets, are maintained, and signals are re-timed.

  • Motorists should anticipate occasional weekend and nighttime cross-street closures during bridge demolition and construction.

A Medical Power of Attorney is critical, because it allows a trusted agent to make healthcare decisions on your behalf. It's important to remember the law requires a power of attorney to be in writing When thinking about who to choose for your Primary Decision maker concider your in laws who may have a calmer head in an emergency than your own parents or spouce. You may want to include a primary and secondary choice on the same docment as well as excluding people specifically. !8 yr olds might concider these too, as they trun 18 they no longer fall under their parents wishes in the eyes of the law. Few hospitals wish to take on the responsibility of determining your healthcare decisions for you, especially in this litigious society. We all had questions and Frances was able to answer most of them. In the time we had (under an hour) we could really onlu touch on the subject, But we are all aware of the need for one now and can do something about it.

Each week we have a dynamic speaker on a new topic or an interesting member discussion. So far in over 20 years, none has resulted in a food fight, although we are hopeful for one in the future.

Our meetings are held at Mimi's Cafe, 120 S. Wilmot  on Tuesdays.7 AM to 8 AM

     Visitor's breakfast is $5.
Please check to see if your category is taken before you attend
