Crescent
Security Talks at Leads Unlimited
Gregg from Crescent Security
here in Tucson, Arizona was our guest
spear at the Feb 19th Leads Unlimited
business club breakfast meeting on Tucson's
east side. Gregg talked about his company,
it's history and some upcoming events
in his industry. Then he explained some
of the interesting things that can be
done with home automation incorporated
into modern home alarm systems. Like
many of our speakers Gregg, offered some
very interesting information I never
knew about home alarms, home security
and even what options we have for lighting
controls in our home alarms. I'm looking
forward to working with Gregg on my alarm
to add some of the features he told us
about

Gregg started out his talk with
some information on his company
which has been in Tucson for
many years now under the new
name, and before this is was
called Century Security. One
of the small touches Gregg talked
about are the yard signs. He
pays a bit more to have his made
out of metal, not plastic, so
they stand up against our Tucson
sun

|
The majority of Gregg's talk
was about the cool and interesting
ways low voltage home automation
systems can be put to use. This
nice looking remote is for your
house, not a TV (although it
might also work on a TV) but
lights, alarm, music, drapes
and even water falls can be controlled
with the touch of a button from
anywhere in the house.

|
Creative use of laser etching
makes the controls easy for the
whole family (and guests) to
use, while being a big improvement
over stickers

|
The units Crescent Security
uses are not the typical radio
store quality novelty low voltage
systems. These units are designed
to be used in both residential
and commercial applications so
they are built to last with
lots of use.

|
|
There are many options available
in remotes and wall switches.
Gregg sent a few around the table
for us to see. I have used the
radio store home controls in
the past and the superior quality
of these devices is apparent
right away

Gregg offered a give away. A
fire blanket that mounts to the
inside of a kitchen (or workshop)
cabinet. A very useful safety
device. We each passed him a
biz card and there was a random
drawing for the fire blanket,
thanks Gregg (even though I
didn't win it)
