Hiking is a popular recreational pastime in Arizona, as a get-away from urban living, while enjoying the beauty and wildlife of nature. Hiking season runs all year in Arizona. Of course, with unpredictable weather and fires, some trails may be closed anytime during the season. The websites for the area will usually inform you of any closures or cautions and we provide links for most of the trails in our directory Search Tucson Pictures

John F Kennedy Park

We stopped by Kennedy Park to get some photos of Kennedy Lake in south west Tucson, Arizona one evening in Sept 2008. The water level was about average and a few people had lines in the water testing their luck fishing for the fish the lake is stocked with each year. An Arizona Urban Fishing License required to fish at Kennedy Lake (as with all the Tucson Urban Lakes). No live baitfish allowed. Kennedy lake contains: channel catfish, rainbow trout (in season), bluegill, redear sunfish, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, carp, and white amur. Buy a two-pole stamp and try different baits to double your odds. There is a map below you can use to help find Kennedy Lake in southwest Tucson, north of Aio Way between La Cholla Boulevard and Mission Road. Click Here for our page dedicated to Kennedy Lake for more information, pictures and lake reports from other people who have fished Kennedy Lake recently
