Hiking is a popular recreational pastime in Arizona, as a get-away from urban living, while enjoying the beauty and wildlife of nature. Hiking season runs all year in Arizona. Of course, with unpredictable weather and fires, some trails may be closed anytime during the season. The websites for the area will usually inform you of any closures or cautions and we provide links for most of the trails in our directory Search Tucson Pictures

Cheap but effective Survival Kit Tools

We took a look at some inexpensive tools at the local import tool shop. These simple tools can really be useful in an emergency situation. Here is a quick review of a few tools we liked.

We took a look at some inexpensive tools at the local import tool shop. These simple tools can really be useful in an emergency situation. This two pry bar kit was under $4 and offered two small sized pry bars (one 11inch, one 9 inch). Good for lots of jobs in a pinch. Here is a quick review of a few tools we liked. This larger pry bar was sold on it's own for under $2. Worth the extra price / weight? Perhaps for your kit, but I'll stick with the two smaller pry bars pictured above 12 inch Twisted barb saw. A great tool for survival (it even says so on the package). At $7 it's a bit pricey, so I'll wait for it to go on sale or a coupon

These Drill Saws are a clever and useful tool. I keep a few in my other tool boxes, but a few shorter models also go in my larger survival kits
