The restaurant was bright and clean, the bright sun outside makes it look darker than it was. There were quite a few customers in line and eating and just two employees

There are large windows so that customers can see the bagels being made. Unfortunately it also lets us see the condition of the kitchen. The window was steamed up but also quite dirty. We noted how some of the grime must have accumulated over time, maybe a window wasn't such a good idea

This is a chain restaurant so most of the products and store fixtures are mandated by the 'home office', and everything seemed to be in place, except the employees

As we waited in line to place our order we watched as the employee making the sandwiches, very politely listened tot he instructions from the person in front of us, then very politely repeated the instructions back to her. "OK you'd like a salmon bagel served open face with both butter and cream cheese, salmon, tomato and capers on both halves. I'll have that ready in a moment" He then very politely made a standard sandwich. When the lady came over and apologized for not making it clear, and requested the sandwich served open face and on a plate 'for here', he very politely wrapped the sandwich "to go" and handed it to her as he encouraged her to have a nice day He didn't seem to be doing it deliberately, I think he was either simple minded or had something else on his mind and was simply going through the motions and simply parroted the ladies instructions back to her without any attempt to interpret them. The lady took the sandwich and walked away without pushing the issue any further.  We didn't order sandwiches..

So we settled on a dozen bagels. These aren't donuts, but they do have some grease. I think it might be the cheese that stained the bag

Something must be wrong with the bag, it seems a few 'evaporated' on the way home. Here is the assortment, Blueberry, Jalapeno, Wheat, Cheese, Raisin and an Everything bagel with salt and seeds on it
