Snow on Mt. Lemmon

We drove up on a snowy day in Feb 2009. The Mt Lemmon Highway was restricted to 4x4 and cars with chains

White trees are not a common sight in Southern Arizona, so this drive up into the snow line was a treat

The Visitor Center was closed and covered with snow

At about 6000 feet the temperature rose above 32 degrees and snow melted fast and the road was totally clear of ice and snow

The mountains didn't loose their snow as quickly as the road so the view was very different than most of the year

Back in Tucson all the snow from the night before had already melted. But for a few hours in the middle of the night we had snow on the ground in Tucson and this desert Doberman had a great time getting his feet and nose cold in the white stuff
